On 6月18日 1815, the Battle of Waterloo took place. During the battle, the Second Doctor impersonated Napoléon Bonaparte, who was subsequently defeated by the Duke of Wellington. (PROSE: World Game) During his sixth incarnation, the Doctor was also present during the battle, as were Davros and a squadron of Imperial Daleks. (AUDIO: The Curse of Davros) Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart's ancestor Major Geenral Fergus Lethbridge-Stewart served as the Duke of Wellington's right-hand man during the battle (PROSE: The Scales of Injustice) while Major Thessinger's father was one of the combatants. Following the French defeat, British Army soldiers ransacked the Louvre and stole its paintings. (PROSE: Set Piece)

Great-Great-Great Grandmother McCrimmon, with the aid of the Tenth Doctor and Heather McCrimmon, defeated the Mozhtratta in Edinburgh. (COMIC: The Chromosome Connection)

The volcano Tambora erupted. This eruption caused an accumulation of volcanic ash in the upper atmosphere. The effect was so significant that even in June 1816 the half-delirious Eighth Doctor could still guess it to be the "Year Without a Summer" by observing the atmosphere on the shores of Lake Geneva. The painter J. M. W. Turner was inspired by the resulting blood-red skies. (AUDIO: Mary's Story)

Alternate timeline

In an alternate timeline created by the Players, the Duke of Wellington was assassinated on the eve of the Battle of Waterloo, which allowed Napoléon to win. The Second Doctor and Serena visited Paris in July and witnessed a victory parade on the Champs-Élysées. (PROSE: World Game)
