Instead, Amy Pond began a more-than-20-century residence in the box, with an Auton duplicate of her fiancé standing watch. - According to the Strange to Tell section of The Dalek World, a Dalek saucer crashed in the Himalayas in the year 141. Finding it difficult to travel over the ice and snow, the Daleks crawled out of their casing and discovered that, because of the rarified atmosphere and sub-zero temperatures, they were able to survive. These Dalek mutants ultimately became known as the legendary Yeti.
