An autobiographical film on the life of the German man who lost his virginity to Miranda Dawkins on the day the Berlin Wall fell won the Best Foreign Non-Interactive Film Oscar. The film detailed how all the major moments of his life occurred on historically significant dates. Jodie Foster's daughter played Miranda. Ferran used this film to track down Miranda in 1989. Archaeologists discovered the wreckage of the Dalek Saucer Survey Ship Sigma in France one hundred years after it had crashed and accidentally revived the surviving Daleks inside. The Eleventh Doctor arrived just in time to prevent a disaster and connected the saucer to a power line, overloading the Daleks. He saw this as "unfinished business". (COMIC: The Dalek Project)

Feeling that her parents did not understand her problems, Yasmin Khan left her home. She was found on a roadside of a lonely road by Anita Patel, who managed to convince Yaz to return home. (TV: Can You Hear Me?)
Undated Torchwood activity

Following several periods of activity elsewhere after the destruction of the Torchwood Hub in 2009 (TV: Torchwood: Children of Earth) and the Miracle Day phenomenon in 2011, (TV: Torchwood: Miracle Day) Torchwood returned to Cardiff in order to deal with temporary holes in space-time which brought through new alien phenomena to the city. They weren't sure if this was a sign of the Cardiff Space-Time Rift reopening or simply the position in Cardiff being vulnerable.
At this point, Gwen Cooper, who dealt with most of these incursions with assistance from PC Andy Davidson while her husband looked after their daughter, approached Roger Pugh, Planning Officer for Cardiff City Council, in order to establish a new Torchwood Cardiff facility which would replace the long-gone Hub. After Gwen showed Roger a day of her work first hand, he gave her his support. (AUDIO: More Than This)
The Vault and St Luke's University
The Twelfth Doctor and Nardole continued to guard the Vault at St Luke's University into 2017. (TV: The Pilot, Knock Knock)
After a spaceship landed in Bristol sometime prior to 2017, a puddle of sentient oil left behind by the ship became active. Heather, a student, was aware of the puddle and visited it several times before telling and visiting with Bill Potts. Heather was killed by the puddle after she was designated as its "pilot", but not before she had promised not to leave Bill.

The puddle continued to stalk Bill first to her flat, and then back to the university where the Doctor was alerted to its danger. He, Bill and Nardole checked the security of the vault before leaving in the TARDIS to evade it. The trio went to Australia where the puddle continued to follow them to before the Doctor resorted to travelling to a different planet in the far future. After this, the trio returned to the university where Bill agreed to travel with him as his companion. (TV: The Pilot)
Before travelling on their first adventure, the Doctor sent Nardole out of the TARDIS to get some tea whilst he apparently materialised in his office. This was not the case and the Doctor and Bill had an adventure in the future on a colony planet. (TV: Smile) When the Doctor and Bill returned Nardole discovered they had been off-world as they were wearing period clothing. Nardole was evidently angry at this and went to check on the Vault where Missy knocked from inside. (TV: Thin Ice)
A break from the vault
Later, Bill and her new friends attempted to find a house to rent. After an estate agent showed them around several houses they left without one due to the expense of the properties. As they were leaving a mysterious landlord offering them a mansion-sized house at 11 Cardinal Road for an unusually cheap price. Despite Bill's suspicions, the group all signed the contract and they moved in that night. After summoning the Dryads by playing a high-pitched record, Pavel was absorbed into the house almost immediately. (TV: Knock Knock)

The Twelfth Doctor helped Bill move her things into the house by materialising around her possessions and then travelling to the house. He suspected something was going on after feeling no wind despite the weather. His suspicions were further confirmed by how creaky the house was, the nature of the landlord, and an investigation of the pipes. Despite Bill's protests and excuses, the Doctor decided to stay the night. During the course of the night the house it was revealed that they were sealed into the house which continued to "eat" people. Eventually, the Doctor, Harry, Bill and Shireen found their way into the tower. After Shireen and Harry were both absorbed by Dryads, Bill and the Doctor found the room where Eliza was being hidden. As she was the landlord's mother it was revealed he had been killing people every twenty years to prevent his mother from dying. The Doctor eventually taught Eliza to control the Dryads and she finally ended her and her son's life. Bill's friends were restored to life, but the house was destroyed. The Doctor then left, suggesting to go back to the estate agent. (TV: Knock Knock) For at least Bill this was not the case, and she moved back in with her foster mother. (TV: Extremis)
After, the adventure had concluded the Doctor returned to the Vault to find Nardole who then left. The Doctor then entered the Vault to tell Missy about his recent adventure. (TV: Knock Knock)
Longing to leave
After returning to his job as a lecturer full time, without any interim adventures, the Twelfth Doctor started to miss the world of space travel more and more until on one occasion whilst supposedly presenting a lecture on crop rotation instead spoke about the vacuum of space. One student questioned him on the link between the subjects to which the Doctor replied they were the same thing. After the lecture, Nardole also questioned on his urge to travel off-world. It came to the point where Nardole removed the fluid link K57 from the TARDIS, something which the Doctor had told him it wouldn't work without. He lied, however, and not being able to resist the temptation any longer took the TARDIS off-world to Chasm Forge in the far future where he lost his sight. (TV: Oxygen)
Invasion of the Monks
Sometime later, whilst guarding the Vault, the Doctor received an email from a simulation of himself, warning him of an incoming invasion by the Monks. The Doctor asked Missy for help through the doors of the Vault, also admitting he was blind. (TV: Extremis)
After receiving the email and detailing the events of it to Nardole, the Doctor was kidnapped whilst aboard the TARDIS and taken onto Boat One to act as President of Earth in a war zone in Turmezistan where a pyramid had appeared overnight on a border dispute between the Russians, the Chinese, and the Americans. The Monks, who were inside the pyramid, initiated the Doomsday Clock to countdown to the destruction of all life on Earth.
The Monks offered to save the human race from this destruction. After the secretary general of the United Nations was murdered after consenting out of fear, and all three armies had attacked the pyramid unsuccessfully the leaders of the three armies all consented to the Monks, however, they consented out of strategy and were also killed. Meanwhile, the Doctor and Nardole found the reason for the Doomsday Clock moving forward in time in Agrofuel Research Operations in Yorkshire where one of the scientists had accidentally released an enzyme that would destroy all life on Earth. The Doctor blew up the enzyme, however, he could not open a lock to escape the explosion without his sight which led to Bill, consenting to the Monks out of love, giving them control of the planet. After they took control of the planet they almost immediately changed history so that they were present from before humanity's first steps to the present day and erected statues of themselves all around the world to boost Bill's brain signals. Even changing historical events such as the first moon landing so that the Monks were there to greet the astronauts. Also, the Twelfth Doctor was held captive on an old prison ship, often hosting broadcasts that presented the 'true' history. During this time Bill struggled to remember a time before the Monks, every day reminding herself that her adventures with the Doctor did happen. As a result of his exposure to the enzyme, Nardole was bedridden for six weeks before starting to track down the Doctor. Secretly, the Doctor was one by one training members of the Truth Police to realise that the Monks version of events were not real, persuading them to work towards overthrowing them during this time. Some of these individuals included Dave, Alan, and Richard. Nardole was aware of this plan but the Doctor waited to act until Bill was back at his side.
The downfall of the Monks occurred six months after their initial invasion. (TV: The Lie of the Land)
Alternate timelines
2017 saw the end of an alternate timeline created by John Hart 130 years prior; having used distilled rift energy to cut Jack Harkness off from the Time Vortex and transfer his immortality to himself, John proceeded to take control of the Torchwood Institute and the British Empire. Jack, however, remained a fixed point in time, and as he deteriorated, the new version of N-Space began to die with him. John had become aware that something was wrong as stars appeared closer than they should have been, a result of time and space contracting.
Receiving word that Jack was dying, John visited Flat Holm to see him in his final hours. After gloating to Jack of how he had changed the course of history and stole his life, John was confronted with the truth that he knew. He had in fact visited Jack to find a way to stop the end of the universe only for Jack to tell him that he was taking what he had stolen back; John was never meant to have his power, becoming a "warped reflection" whose domain was now a dying universe cut off from reality. It was at this point that Jack finally died, after which John discovered that everyone apart from himself had disappeared. Finding himself alone in a collapsing universe of his own making, John cried to Jack that he was sorry as his reality was negated. Meanwhile, as Jack put it, everything went back to "how it should be." (AUDIO: The Death of Captain Jack)
